Denver's National Doubles Championship Tournament

Players from Guillermo's

Dear Friends,

What an amazing Sunday morning on March 6, 2017 at 10:45 am!  We had Alicia McConell and her sister, Patrice, on court one at the Denver Athletic Club, and at the same time, Alex Dumas and Phil Lane were on court two. While it is always good to be playing on Sunday morning. In any tournament, this was extra special because it was not just any tournament, but instead, it was the United States National Hardball Doubles Tournament!!!
Alicia and Patrice were playing in the finals of the women’s 50+ division having won their earlier two matches
on Thurs and Fri to earn a spot in the finals. They played a great tournament and finished up as the finalists in
their division.
Alex and Phil were playing in the finals off the B division, which they will never get to play in again! They had won
their match on Thursday 3-0. That was followed by a 3-0 win in their match on Friday, which in turn was followed by a 3-0
win on Saturday. Then, you guessed it, they won the final on Sunday at 3-0, of course! They thus became National Champions having completed a perfect tournament run of 12 wins and 0 losses.
CONGRATS!!! To our 4 representatives of a little squash club in Colorado Springs who took on players from Canada and all over the United States and came out very much on top!!

    Cinderella story!

       All the Best!
